Materiality assessment

In 2024, Gränges finalized the validation of its Double Materiality Assessment in line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The assessment covered the entire value chain and identified 18 sub-topics as material.

The methodology included a structured evaluation of sustainability impacts on society and the environment, as well as the potential financial impact on Gränges. It also introduced quantitative criteria based on scale, scope, likelihood, and irremediability. The validated results confirm the relevance of earlier assessments while adding air pollution and corporate culture as new material sub-topics.

Stakeholder dialogue

Stakeholder dialogue is a key part of the materiality process. Gränges maintains regular and structured engagement with key stakeholder groups to ensure alignment with expectations. In 2023, Gränges conducted a comprehensive dialogue as part of the updated Double Materiality Assessment. These dialogues will be repeated at least every three years, while annual interactions are conducted to stay informed on shifting stakeholder priorities. Results are presented to the Group Management Team, and input is used to adjust the company’s sustainability focus if necessary.
